  4. To accomplish No. 1 above, holiness will be our lifestyle.
  5. To accomplish No. 2 and 3 above, we will plant churches within five minutes walking distance in every city and town of developing countries and within five minutes driving distance in every city and town of developed countries.

We will pursue these objectives until every Nation in the world is reached for the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our History

The Redeemed Christian Church of God commenced in 1952 following God’s dealing with a man of God – Pa Josiah Akindayomi – in Nigeria, Africa. Although Pa Akindayomi could neither read nor write the English language, God presented the name of the church to him in the English language. God also made several astonishing promises to him concerning the church.

Before Pa Akindayomi went to be with the Lord in 1980, God revealed to him that the current president of the church (the General Overseer) – Pastor Enoch Adeboye – would succeed him. Pastor Adeboye was then a Mathematics professor. Pa Akindayomi recognized Pastor Adeboye immediately he joined the church and started training and nurturing him.

Under Pastor Adeboye, God has done unprecedented things in the church. Today, the church has more than 5,000 branches worldwide with about 200 branches in North America alone.

To the glory of God, the Church is noted for the effectiveness of its prayers, demonstration of God’s healing power and teaching its members to live a life of holiness.
